Project 365 - Day #272 - 1/10/11
I can’t believe it’s October already! Saw this at work last week and refrained from buying it but I gave in this week and bought it. I think I got sucked in by the packaging. It’s so pretty and the plastic is MATTE. How could I not buy it? Oh yeah, it’s a pretty good product too. :P

We had people over the other day and Mum bought these cakes. HOW GORGEOUS ARE THEY? The way the cook pinched the petals is so delicate.
They tasted quite nice too :P I don’t know what they’re called but you’re meant to eat them with Nuoc Mam (fish sauce)

Blogging about yesterday’s dinner makes me drool :)

One: Scallops, calamari, baby abalone, nasturtium. No one on the table really knew what ‘nasturtium’ was but it was a very nice dish. The sauce - we taste tested it to be broccoli. Scallops were the best.
Two: Pork belly, shaved fennel, radish, baked cauliflower. Cauliflower sauce was very interesting. Pork belly was so crunchy mmmmmm.
Three: Slow Cooked Sher Wagyu, smoked potato, golden fried egg. Funny story. The Wagyu came out (as expected) quite raw and I can’t really eat raw meat so me and a couple other girls on the table asked for it to be cooked well done. The waiter gave us that ‘seriously?!’ face but sent it back to the kitchen. It still tasted amazing well done. The potato was actually ‘smoked.’ Tasted like a campfire in your mouth. Golden fried egg was very new indeed.
Four: Chocolate, honeycomb, violet, shaved caramel. I think this was my favourite meal of the night. It used to concept of the Violet Crumble chocolate bar and turned it into an amazing dessert. Inside was chocolate mousse. Jizz.
Five: Bombe Alaska We were all pretty excited for this because we had seen it in Masterchef! Was nice, the meringue or whatever that was was a bit sweet for my liking but the raspberries and raspberry sauce as well as the ice cream inside helped make it less sweet.
Six: Petit FoursPeople started leaving before this was served so I took a really dodge photo. Macaroons were yum; flavours were Coconut, Vanilla and Raspberry. Didn’t get to taste that ‘white ball’ but my brother said it tasted like white chocolate Ferrero Roches. <3
